Basic Bunker Play Tips

Even the best golfer ends up in the dreaded sand at some point and when that happens, your focus is on getting the ball cleanly out. These bunker play tips can help you minimize the damage and lose just one stroke rather than several. Don’t try to hit the ball so far that it stays there; if necessary, hit out to the side or even backwards. Always have a firm and stable stance which helps to prevent you from slipping in the sand, as well as not moving while you take the shot. Keep the face of the club open, and swing as you normally would; don’t be tempted to slash at the ball in desperation. When you swing, remember to choke down on the club to ensure you don’t hit the shot too fat. And golf is largely about confidence; approach the shot with a positive mindset.
