One of the best Isle of Wight walks is known as the coastal path, and it takes in the entire circumference of the island. Although the entire walk is about 70 miles, it can be easily split into manageable sections, with plenty of accommodation along or near the route. Most walkers take five days to complete it. It’s also a fairly easy walk too, as much of it is along quiet lanes and public footpaths and the start point and end point for most walkers is the the resort of Cowes. The walk offers stunning scenery along much of its route, along with varying terrain including deserted high cliffs and miles of sandy beaches. Much of the Isle of Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the walk provides an opportunity to experience a variety of wildlife, birds and fauna up close.
