Teaching English as a second language online can be an easy and satisfying way to make some extra money. The Internet has made it easy to teach students in other countries, all from the comfort of your own home. Many companies now offer this option, and of course you can always work for yourself. Teaching online eliminates the time and costs of commuting and allows you to set your own schedule up to a point. Most companies require some teaching experience, although sometimes this can be tutoring instead of actual teaching. Of course, a good grasp of English is a must, along with a clear speaking voice, good communication skills and often plenty of patience. A fast Internet connection is also a requirement and you’ll typically need a camera on your computer or laptop so you and the student can see each other.
