Herbs are great for the skin. Typically, they are enjoyed in the form of creams or as ingredients in bars of soap. There are other ways to use herbs, including in your bath water. Since dry herbs and their essential oils can be preserved for a long time if properly encapsulated, having those essential oils locked into infused bath salts is one way to have a pleasant scent as well as the therapeutic benefit of those oils.
There is some argument that an oil cannot dissolve in water, but that is not true. The oils are in the salt, and so get mixed in with the salt. Any soap will also help to keep these oils emulsified, but it really doesn’t matter because the volatile oils that do escape will fill your bathroom full of a really delicious and comforting scent.
