Nothing brings more dread than potential exposure to a sexually transmitted disease. Sometimes, a partner will notify someone the partner tested positive for an STD. That doesn’t guarantee the second person has said STD, but they often want to know right away. A rapid STD test reveals whether or not an individual is infected with a given infection. Typically, these tests rely upon a blood test based on the potential STD in question.
Various medical offices provide rapid testing for STDs. Answers often come in minutes rather than days. Unlike normal tests, rapid samples are processed in the office where testing occurs. Samples don’t need to be shipped out to a third party lab for testing. Faster answers provide patients with an immediate answer. Of course, a negative test brings peace of mind that infection has been avoided in that instance.
