If you’re planning an African safari trip, it’s important to do some research to ensure your trip is what you expect. Of course, budget is a big factor, which to some extent will affect the length of your trip, and it’s also important to go with a reputable and well established company. The time of year is a consideration too; June to October is the best time to visit southern or eastern Africa, as there is less rainfall, making it easier to spot animals around the water holes. The type and standard of accommodation is also important, and this can include tents, game lodges and even tree houses. Some safaris are more family orientated than others, some focus on interactions with local tribes for a more authentic experience, and some include a lot of walking. All safaris are not the same, and doing your homework is essential.
