JIT Inventory Is Dead

As the pandemic slowly burns itself out, we are left living in a very different world than before. Whereas we once were able to simply get anything we wanted whenever we wanted it, that dynamic has been radically changed.

Instead, we are now confronted with a much more Third World-style economy where items are in short supply, on backorder, or not available at all. No matter what price you are willing to pay.

It thus becomes necessary to think ahead in terms of major purchases. If one were in the market for a new outboard motor for your boat, it is no longer automatic that you can just walk into a store and buy one. This is especially the case if you have a specific model in mind. Think ahead, shop early, and get what you know you will need while it is still on the shelf.
