If you enjoy working with people, and enjoy sales you may want to become one of the many realtors in Fort Worth. You’ll need to take the required state courses, and pass your Texas real estate exam; once you have passed it, you can then apply to work with a sponsoring broker, a requirement in the state. There are other desirable traits too, for anyone wanting to succeed in this often competitive field. A thorough knowledge of the local property market is a must, as well as a good general knowledge of the Fort Worth area, including transportation, schools, hospitals and other amenities. You’ll need to be outgoing, able to answer questions clearly, patient and well organized. Being available for clients in the evening and at weekends is a must too. But there’s no doubt it can be a rewarding and lucrative career.
